Happy Christmas to all!

We all got a great Christmas present....the brand new Banbury Didge Club T-Shirts They look fantastic and everyone was well pleased! Thanks Chris L for sorting those out for us..been a long time coming but well worth the wait

A great evening was had by all and thanks Chris H for the mince pies!. Good effort too from Simon who, despite a fearsome cold, still managed to play for most of the evening! Good rendition of the rhythm game this eveneing and we are at last remembering to write them down! Brought the 7 foot 'G' didge tonight and everyone had a go on it as it is quite hard to play at first! Jon managed to play it straight away which was amazing as when I first bought t I had to call Alastair Black because i thought I was doing something wrong as I couldn't play it at all

Anyway I have posted the dates for this years club meetings so do hope to see you all there...let's make the first of the year a big one!

See you there!!

With winter on its way we had an entertaining and warming session tonight and a big welcome to Jon our newest member all the way from Bloxham..potential car share with Chris there perhaps? Anyway we had a good night with lots of individual playing styles and rhythms. Missed Darren again for some drumming and as I forgot mine we had to improvise with a plastic stool! Still very entertaining all the same and lots of good sounds from everyone which is always encouraging. Jon hopes to have got the circular breathing sorted having mastered the glass of water and straw technique...we shall see! Anyway I will get a date for December up so hope to see you all then. Happy Toots!!

Another crowded house tonight and we were treated to some new gadgetry for recording purposes. Will be a good iidea to get some sounds down for future reference and , who knows, potential stage space?? Got down to some practicing esp the 'bounce breath' which is always an intriguing technique and somewhat tricky to master. I still reckon the traditional style 'dowh' sound adopts the same principle. No Paul this month as he is in Oz so look forward to hearing all his tales from Down Under when he returns. Got some good drumming in as well thanks mainly to Darren and that set off some solo didge stuff from the rest of us. Get hold of you calendars as we need to get a date sorted for December! See you end of the month Cheers Jono

Another glorious summers evening and a pretty full house again. We settled down to some good jamming and percussion work to begin with and then looked at some more rhythm techniques and styles. Each of us is developing their own individual way of playing and we have been concentrating on the diaphragm a lot more and utilising the 'bounce-breath'. Copious amounts of tea as usual and overall another enjoyable evening!Smile
